This historic South Frankfort gem is walkable to the Kentucky State Capitol and downtown shops and dining. The Art Deco bathroom, beautifully restored in February 2026, features plush towels, and the remodeled kitchen is fully equipped for short or mid-term stays. Classic character, modern updates, scenic location.

The space

After a day exploring central Kentucky, come home to comfort designed with families in mind. Relax in your private bedroom with a full-sized bed and fluffy linens while the kids settle into the trundle bed (two twins) in the living room. Newly sound-insulated doors and blackout curtains help ensure a peaceful night’s sleep.

Located in the heart of charming South Frankfort, you’re just a few blocks from the Kentucky State Capitol and downtown shops, restaurants, and historic sites. This 1930s brick building has been thoughtfully renovated with an eye toward historic preservation and now features ten well-appointed, non-smoking units—ideal for legislators, government contractors, digital nomads, temporary assignments, and bourbon trail enthusiasts. Distiller’s Guest House truly feels like a home away from home.

The apartment includes a separate living room, a fully equipped, freshly remodeled kitchen, and an Art Deco–style bathroom stocked with hotel-quality towels. If you're traveling with a larger group, consider reserving neighboring units so you can gather together and still enjoy your own private space.

The neighbourhood

This short-term rental is ideally situated on a quiet, tree-lined street just a few blocks between the Kentucky State Capitol (and Capitol Annex) and downtown Frankfort, an area rich with historic buildings, museums, and local attractions.
The building is approximately 1.7 miles (about a 7-minute drive) from Buffalo Trace Distillery and about 3 miles from Bluegrass Community Hospital. Our peaceful neighborhood offers safe, walkable streets for easy trips to and from downtown.

Great spot and host! There’s quite a few things to do within a 10 minute walk or so… And if the weather is nice, you can walk a little bit further to some of the distilleries!

This was a perfect place to stay for us. We loved how so much was in walking distance; the Capitol, Rebecca Ruth Candy, and everything Downtown Frankfort has to offer. There are lots of distilleries and other activities near by. We visited Four Roses, Castle and Key, Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, and Wild Turkey. We also went to Louisville to tour Churchill Downs and the Derby Museum. We ran out of time to do more there. We also took in Versailles visiting Blue Grass Rail Adventures and some local Wineries. Having Michelle's place as our home base was wonderful! Very comfortable and welcoming! This is a property you should book!

I've stayed in this area of Frankfort a few times. This unit was conveniently located in the downtown area. Spacious apartment with a lot of amenity. Definitely would stay again if in the area again.
